The Midnight Banjo Show: A New Spin On Country Music Podcasting Coming Soon!

Howdy to all the Country Music Lovers in the world from the headquarters of the brand new show that promises to take the world of Country Music Podcasting by storm!

The Midnight Banjo Show is a podcast that aims to unite passionate Country listeners from all the corners of the world, popularizing the genre on a global level, bringing it from the underground to the mainstream of music culture in places where it does not enjoy the attention it deserves. One such place is my own homeland, Greece, where plenty of Country Music legends such as George Strait and the late Johnny Cash have a dedicated fan base. Yet, this genre is hardly the talk of the town and there are plenty of people here who have never even seen or touched a banjo in real life! And like Greece, there are plenty of other countries in Europe, Asia and many other geographical regions where us Western lore-lovin' creatures are a starved minority.

Starved for understanding and... kinship. The kind that can only be achieved through the near-metaphysical power of music. Where all colors and identities melt into the pot of... community.

In terms of format, this podcast endeavors to bridge the gap between Music Commentary and Audiodrama shows. To the best of my knowledge, programmes that merge these two genres of entertainment together are few and far between - at least as far as this style of music is concerned. Therefore, I am creating the show that I think is missing from most Podcasting platforms, a show that I would be a fervid listener of!

Join me then, in this journey of discovery and immersion:

Discovery, in the sense of getting to know Country Music better in terms of its 'ingredients', such as instrumentation, lyrics and aesthetics; all the while being immersed into a parallel universe stuck in the 1800s, a vast expanse of unforgiving canyons where a story is hanging from each cliff, and ominous shadows are hiding behind bushes and cacti. Where the protagonist is... You! And believe you me, you have your work cut out for you, as the mission assigned to you in the early stages of the story is no laughable undertaking!

The staff are meticulously scrubbing the floor, polishing the beer glasses behind the counter and making sure that we are fully stocked for the season. For Season 1, that is, where we explore certain subgenres of Country Music, hand-picked with delicate care for your enjoyment.
